It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that the festival will NOT be taking place this year.

At the moment there are still no assurances that we will get back to normality in the Summer. Although some festivals have announced their intentions to take place, the reality is that they don’t know for sure if that will be possible. They will have carried out a risk/cost based analysis that suggests that they won’t go out of business if they have to change plans.

As a charity based festival the money used to put on Drunken Monkey is in effect the Midland Air Ambulance’s money. Every year we donate every possible penny to the charity, only holding back just enough to stage the festival the following year.

With that in mind we have decided that we just cannot take the potential financial hit if the festival doesn’t go ahead, once plans have been put in place. Whereas commercial festival companies can build in a financial loss, we would literally be reducing the Midland Air Ambulances ability to save lives if we lost the cost of putting on a festival this year.

We know that this is very disappointing but we think you will agree that it's for the best.

We also know that the DMRF community is the very best group of people and will still be there for us in 2022 when we hope to put on another great festival for you all.

Thank you so much for your continued support. Your support of the Drunken Monkey Rock Festival helps to make a significant contribution to the lives of others and is hugely appreciated.
